Few characters in the Zelda universe are as controversial as Zelda Skyward Sword's pocket companion, Fi. Fans who thought Navi or the King of Red Lions was annoying could not have been prepared for Fi. She embodies most of what irritated so many fans about Skyward Sword.

Poor Fi has been living in isolation since the beginning of Hyrulian time. When she finally wakes up, a thin lad in green tights who loves swinging his sword at chickens and pots stuffs her in his pocket.

9 It Appears You Are Dying Master
Every Zelda fan is familiar with the famous beeping noise that acts as a harbinger of impending doom and dungeon backtracking. It's a sound worse than death itself (like when Pikachu dies in the Pokémon Yellow). In Skyward Sword, Fi likes to add to the dissonance and warn the player about their dwindling health.

One of the funniest elements of Fi's existence is how robotic, yet supposedly intuitive she is. She can often detect other characters' feelings, emotions, and intentions. By the end of the game, she has developed a close relationship with Link. Yet, she never exactly did a great job understanding her own emotions and relationships.

This meme is hilarious because, well, Link doesn't exactly say much. In fact, he has been a silent protagonist since the days of the original Legend of Zelda on the NES. It's easy to feel sorry for the Hyrulian hero who is constantly saddled with saving Hyrule with an annoying sidekick that talks way too much. Fi has a stat or percentage for everything. For the most part, the stats seem irrelevant and certainly overdone by the end of the game.

Fi isn't in Super Smash Bros., not yet anyway. Knowyourmeme user fm created a great meme about what Fi might possibly be like in Smash. As Ganondorf goes for his signature finishing blow, Fi rattles off stats and suggestions to the player. If this were Skyward Sword, the whole game would pause as she spoke to Link, but Super Smash doesn't take breaks for text.
Who knows, maybe Nintendo can help the player out and have Fi automatically pause the game while she informs the player of what they should do (most likely as they are already doing it).
5 Technicalities
Spoiler alert: Fi is the spirit that embodies the Master Sword. Zelda fans will surely have encountered this sword countless times over the course of countless Legend of Zelda adventures. It is the most powerful and significant blade in almost every Zelda game to date.

There are many points in the game where Nintendo has Fi hold the player's hand too much, even when the player has already found something out for themselves. For a series known for working the brain, there is an odd lack of respect for the players' intelligence in Skyward Sword, and it usually takes the form of Fi.
